Some generals about disc cutting:
Try to cut with one strong and balanced hit.
Check your tools before you use it. The cutouts in the guide and the base plate must fit exactly. Otherwise you can demage the cutting punch or the cutout in the base plate.
If you have, use a heavy head nylon hammer. If not and you have to use a metal hammer, wear safety goggles. A hardened leather between hammer and punch can reduce the risc of flying metal fragments.
